The Shirley Volleyball Club has a strong and successful history here in Christchurch and in New Zealand. We have a growing membership base catering from our mens and womens National Championship teams through to our developing Spider Monkey training sessions.
The number of teams we can field changes year to year based on coach availability and gym space. Training is usually in high school gymnasiums and at least once per week.
Shirley teams compete in the local CVA League on Monday nights as well as our top tiered teams competing in the Southern Zone League and National Club Championships. Our goal is to send at least two teams per gender to the New Zealand Club Championships. We are always looking for coaches and people who can assist with the running of the club, so if that interests you, please get in touch. Registration for trials is usually in late March.
