Spend a summer on the sand.  Come and join Canterbury's best junior volleyball players in a group training environment led by experienced coaches.  A great way to make new friends, play against your school and club mates and develop your all around skills.

Purpose of Canterbury beach squad – is to provide a holistic athlete-centered development environment to encourage long term involvement in the game.   

 

The beach squad environment offers athletes the opportunity to develop the physical, mental, and emotional skills and knowledge to go on to play, coach, manage or be involved in whatever level of adult beach volleyball they choose. Emphasis is placed on quality engagement with coaches and players, positivity, support, encouragement and improved volleyball skills and game development.  Results are a by-product of the overarching purpose and not the priority. 

 

Registrations for our 2023/4 Beach squad are now closed.  Our squad is now training and will continue through to January.  From the squad 20x athletes have been selected to travel to the InterProvincial Beach Volleyball Tournament in Tauranga - January 2024

Squad Trial Information:

Sunday 24th of September 2023 - Pioneer Stadium

U19 Girls & U7 Girls: 9am-10.30am

U19 Boys & U17 Boys: 10.30am-12noon

Age brackets for 2022/2023 season are:
U17 - born 2008, 2009 or later
U19 - born 2006 or 2007

​

 

Cost: $370

includes:

* Squad t-shirt

* Playing singlet for local tournaments

* 1 1/2 day camp (17-18 November 2023)

* 1 day camp (12 January 2024)

* Training days & times:  

   2023: 25 October-17 December: Wednesday (6pm-8pm) and Sunday (4pm-6pm) 

   2024: 9 & 10 January (6pm-8pm), 21 January (4pm-6pm), 24 January (6pm-8pm)

   (note - younger athletes may only be able to train once a week in term 4 due to indoor commitments)

* coaching from our Canterbury coaches

* entry to 4 x Christchurch tournaments -18-19 November, 9-10 December, 13 January 2024,

   27-28 January 2024 (Canterbury Open)

Representative Beach Volleyball
